4 Days Cappadocia Trip from Istanbul

Day 1: Departure

At 11:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul and transferred to the Istanbul airport, where you will receive your round-trip flight tickets after making a reservation. Upon arrival at the Cappadocia airport, you will be greeted with a sign displaying your name for your transfer to the Cave Suite hotel. After checking in, you can relax and prepare for the Turkish Night Show with Dinner, which begins at 8:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM.

Day 2

(Optional: Pre-sunrise hot-air balloon flight. Hotel pickup: around 06:30 during winter and 04:30 during summer. Dropoff: 8.00/30)

Embark on the Red Tour and start your day with a visit to Devrent Valley, also known as “Imagination Valley”. This surreal-looking landscape will leave you awestruck. Next, head to Pashabagi, also called the Monks Valley, where Christian hermits chose to locate hermit cells and churches in the symbolic three-headed pinnacles, representative of the Holy Trinity. Here, you can witness all stages of the formation of fairy chimneys.

Proceed to Avanos, the pottery center of Cappadocia, situated on the banks of the Red River. Enjoy a delectable lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to the Goreme Open Air Museum, where you can find the world’s most important Byzantine cave churches in once-remote valleys where monks and nuns pursued monastic life from the 3rd century on. Admire the best-preserved Byzantine cave wall paintings and frescos from the Iconoclastic period through to the end of Seljuk rule.

Take a break to enjoy the panoramic view point of Esentepe, where you can get a spectacular view over Goreme and see the complete view of Goreme valley and Goreme village, fairy chimneys, rock formations, and cave houses. End your day by visiting Uchisar Castle, the tallest rock and highest point in the Goreme region.

After the tour, we will transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay at the Cave Suite Hotel.

Day 3

Blue Tour: Begin your day at 9:45 am with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a hike through the stunning Red and Rose Valley, known for their breathtaking and enigmatic beauty. Conclude your hike at the Cavusin Cave Village, where you can marvel at the rock castle and troglodyte dwellings that were inhabited until the 20th century. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before descending into the depths of the earth with a visit to the Underground City, one of Cappadocia’s largest and deepest settlements. Explore its stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches, and wineries. Later, visit the Pigeon Valley and witness the incredible view of dovecotes (pigeon or dove houses), old abandoned cave homes, and old Greek houses of Uchisar and Ortshisar Castle, the biggest mass of fairy chimneys in Cappadocia. At 6:00 pm, transfer back to your hotel for an overnight stay in the Cave Suite Hotel.

Day 4

Green tour: Start your journey with a breathtaking panoramic view of Goreme valley and village, including its fairy chimneys, rock formations, and cave houses, from Esentepe.

Next, visit the Underground City, one of the best-preserved and deepest underground cities in Cappadocia. Discover the unique rooms found in an underground city, such as stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches, and wineries. Explore the second floor, which housed the missionary school and study rooms.

Travel to the Ihlara Valley and admire over one hundred rock-carved churches and houses that line the gorge. Walk along the river in the valley, explore the hidden churches, and relax by the river at Belisirma Village where lunch will be served.

After lunch, continue to Selime Monastery, a 13th-century monastery carved out of the rock by Christian monks. Stop at Yaprakhisar Panorama for a great photo opportunity of Selime Monastery, featured in the ‘Star Wars’ films.

At the end of the tour, around 18.00 pm, you will be transferred to Cappadocia airport for your return flight to Istanbul. Upon your arrival in Istanbul, you will be met at the airport with your name on a paper and transferred from the airport to your hotel in Istanbul. This marks the end of our services.
